Semyon Markevich

He is the creative talent known as the SilverT who pioneered the DJ with melodic live Trumpet concept. A young Russian trumpeter, composer, DJ and instructor born on March 15, 1985, Semyon followed his grandfather's footsteps to become a musician. He is a classically trained Trumpet player, a graduate of the prestigious Academy Music School of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory and Ippolitov-Ivanov State Musical-Pedagogical Institute.

Despite his classical training, Semyon's musical direction was never limited to classical music. From an early age, Semyon has played with a vast number of musicians in a variety of styles: R&B, jazz, lounge, chill-out, nu jazz, smooth jazz, ambient, reggae, rock, ska, gypsy music, hip-hop, funk. He has also been involved in recording soundtracks for several films and played live concerts with a number of bands in cities across Russia, Europe and U.S.

A ground-breaking spin to a DJ performance - the SilverT adds a layer of beautifully melodic, upbeat sounds to well-known dance tracks. Loved by audiences across continents, the SilverT Trumpet Live with DJ project was launched in Moscow, Russia and propelled across the ocean to California in the summer of 2011. The mind and talent behind the project, Semyon Markevich is one of the leading young Trumpet soloists from Russia. He toured the U.S. in July and August, 2011, playing alongside DJ's and groups across genres, such as Todo Mundo that plays rock infused with latin American rhythms and a seasoned Funk Ensemble led by the guitarist Brian Jordan.

The SilverT 2011-2013 was heard from Seattle to Los Angeles to New York. The U.S. takeover of SilverT Trumpet Live Show will continue with a tour scheduled for February-March 2014.
